Electrathon is a student-led, multidisciplinary engineering organization dedicated to the end-to-end development of custom-built electric vehicles for competitive racing. Comprised of students from electrical, mechanical, and computer engineering backgrounds, the club provides hands-on experience in the design, construction, testing, and optimization of lightweight, energy-efficient racecars.

Electrathon's core objectives are to build and race electric-powered cars. As Electrathon is an endurance-based race, similar to 24 hours at Le Mans, we consequently build our cars towards efficiency in order to compete. Our races happen about once a month across the state of Florida. Electrathon focuses on being a place for engineers of all shapes and sizes to gain experience in a lab/workshop space, operate smoothly to accomplish a resource-heavy task, and to most importantly, enjoy the challenge and satisfaction of building something with their own hands to see that work go forth and win competitions.  

Our team emphasizes innovation in battery pack design, advanced power management, and real-world integration of low-power embedded systems. Recent developments include a secondary power subsystem that supports onboard features such as real-time data logging, integrated camera systems, safety lighting, and auxiliary electronics. These technologies not only enhance performance and safety but also demonstrate the practical application of energy systems engineering.
